COVID-19 VACCINATION GUIDANCE The rollout of the vaccination program is currently underway in Western Australia. According to the Federal and State Government, the most recent health advice indicates that the AstraZeneca vaccinations will only be given to people over the age of 50 and Pfizer for those under 50 years of age; which is causing delays in the planned roll out. The vaccine is being distributed in stages with a priority on certain groups who would receive the vaccine first. WA is currently in phase 1b of the program, but due to supply issues with Pfizer they have now also included 2a (which is people over 50). To find out whether you are eligible for the vaccine, head to: Globally, 89 vaccines are in clinical trials, 27 of which are in the final stages. Several across the globe have been approved for use after being deemed safe, effective, and a likelihood to reduce the risk of serious illness. It is currently recommended that everyone over the age of 18 years should be vaccinated against COVID-19. Your neurologist or GP will have the most up-to-date information regarding the safe administration of the vaccines for people living with – and those on treatment for – different neurological conditions. MSWA is regularly updating its COVID-19 information here: SUGGESTIONS, COMPLAINTS AND COMPLIMENTS We want to hear from you.
