Pigeon racing! It appears MSWA Community Support Worker, Garry ‘The Pigeon Man’ Wilson, has a hidden talent! When he isn’t spending time with our Clients at Wilson Outreach, Garry raises, trains and races pigeons, donating any funds from this venture to veteran support charity Legacy WA. In January, Garry bought some of his baby pigeons to visit our Clients in Beechboro – just look at those smiles. Thank you very much for your kind donation Albany was also lucky enough to receive some thoughtful donations from the community to help everyone feel more at home when attending the Services Centre. This included a donated bench seat from the Albany Men’s Shed and the private Albany sprouts green thumbs donation of a piano. MSWA Client, David, was delighted when team members from Bunnings arrived at the MSWA Albany Accommodation and Services Centre to set up raised gardens for the patio area outside his unit in late 2022. They happily assisted him with planting flowers, herbs, fruit and vegetables, and gave him tips on how to fertilise and care for them. David organised the gardening day with the team at Bunnings Albany and said he felt it was the first time he was able to give back to the Fantastic Fringe show Beechboro Outreach were treated to an exclusive Fringe show in January, when Perth-based theatre company Company O performed Art (a play by Yasmina Reza). Picture perfect painting day Rockingham Outreach got their creative juices flowing in January, when Outreach Coordinator Peta arranged a canvas painting class. The theme for the day was ‘Australiana’. people at MSWA that supported him. He added that he's been given a whole sense of purpose as he wants to grow herbs and vegetables for use in the MSWA Albany kitchen so that all the Clients can enjoy them too. Great work David! Festive fun The Facilities Team worked hard to bring the seasonal spirit to our Accommodation Clients with larger than life Christmas displays.
