ACCOMMODATION & OUTREACH OUTREACH HAPPENINGS: ALBANY We love our new facility and have had an interesting time so far at Albany Outreach. We had a plant-potting session to add colour to our new areas, and crafty Clients have been bringing their own craft in to show us their ideas. We’ve learnt how to recycle bread bags and old shirts into floor mats. A guest came and spoke to us about his fantastic soap business and how he sources the local ingredients. Thanks to Jasper from Fifo Soap. We have also been enjoying games days. Bingo was a hit and we have a few new ones to try out in the next few weeks. At the time of writing this, Christmas in July is coming up – we know there’ll be a good turnout for that – as well as Albany Mobility Solutions in August. TREENDALE GARDENS OUTDOOR UPGRADE In 2021, Treendale Gardens was selected to receive a generous grant from the ALP via MLA for Collie-Preston, Jodie Hanns. Jodie had been to visit us at Treendale and was impressed by what she saw. The grant was to be specifically spent on our outdoor area which was in need of an upgrade to make it a more welcoming area for Clients and their family and friends to gather in all seasons. I think everyone will agree that the area now looks fantastic with new furniture, fans, blinds, artwork, and an array of plants. Linda Kidd, Nat Hue’ge de Serville and I started the process of planning and ideas, however, this vision would not have come to fruition without the help of Sue Shapland and Sandra Wallace.
