ACCOMMODATION & OUTREACH BOOK YOUR STAY AT MARGARET DOODY HOUSE Margaret Doody House is a purpose-built respite house nestled in the beautiful coastal suburb of City Beach, just a five minute drive to the beach where you can meander along the boardwalk and visit waterfront eateries. There is also the well-loved local Empire Village – a small shopping centre, and a large park just a short two minute walk from the house. Margaret Doody House provides 24/7 short-term residential respite for Clients living with a neurological condition. Respite care provides a temporary break from your everyday routine, and offers your carer a well-earned break at home. It is fully equipped and wheelchair accessible, offering a warm, friendly environment to relax and enjoy the quiet surrounds or interact with new and/or familiar people. Personal care and support is provided by our experienced staff, 24 hours a day. There is also a nurse available during the week. Massage can be booked with Physiotherapist (Yasuko) for a fee, and you can continue to access your regular therapy sessions and community supports from here when pre-organised with your current provider. Margaret Doody House has enjoyed a bit of a facelift to start 2022 – a fresh coat of paint, new flooring, new furniture, and a spruce up of the courtyard. Kind donations and work provided by a few local Bunnings stores has resulted in a beautiful bright new outdoor space to relax in and enjoy. A huge thank you to Lauren at Bunnings Innaloo for coordinating the other stores in helping create a welcoming courtyard for Clients and staff to enjoy. Our amazing volunteer gardener, Colin, has begun refreshing and maintaining our gardens which should have us looking fabulous in no time. With all the new changes, one thing remains the same, and that is our continued provision of genuine warmth and a high level of customised care and support to meet individual needs. Each bedroom is equipped with a modern king, single electric bed with air mattress, electric ceiling hoists, wall mounted smart TV, reverse cycle air conditioning and semi-ensuite. In our current COVID-19 climate, MSWA has been constantly updating and implementing our prevention procedures to keep our staff and Clients as safe as we can. We look forward to welcoming new and familiar clients to Margaret Doody House. Call us on 9385 9574 for more information, to arrange a pre-stay visit, or to book in for your respite stay.
