OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY OT GROUPS 2022 – PLEASE REGISTER YOUR INTEREST The Occupational Therapy team is looking to start running groups again. We would love to run groups based on topics that you would find helpful in increasing your quality of life. FATIGUE MANAGEMENT ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY COGNITION WORKSHOP Do you often experience fatigue and are unsure how to cope with it? Do you find that fatigue stops you from doing what you enjoy? Fatigue is a common symptom in people with neurological conditions and other chronic health conditions. It is a hidden symptom that can be misunderstood by those around us because it cannot be seen physically. Join us for an interactive session with an Occupational Therapist to learn about the basics of fatigue, what causes fatigue for you, the importance of good planning and rest, examining your priorities and using your energy well. Assistive Technology is an umbrella term used for any device or system that allows individuals to perform tasks that they would otherwise be unable to do. In the world of NDIS, The Cognition Workshop is a four week course that helps you to understand what cognition looks like in your life, and strategies for how to improve your attention, Assistive Technology can be funded memory and information in different ways. MSWA ALBANY HAS OPENED ITS DOORS! Our new Services Centre. Our new m Albany development is now complete, with an official opening planned to take place in coming months. Clients in the Great Southern have been enjoying the new stateof-the-art Services Centre for a few months now, and the adjoining High-Support Accommodation welcomed its first residents in early April. Albany Outreach Coordinator, Caroline Clarke-Smith, describes what it was like to walk in the front door: “It was awesome to see the centre for the first time. We were overwhelmed! It’s finally here! It’s unbelievably huge!” Reception area This unique development was made possible by the generosity of MSWA’s community of supporters. Funds raised have directly helped us to expand our footprint in the Great Southern, increasing our capacity to support regional people living with neurological conditions.
